Hand on heart: what was your soundtrack in the 1990s? The decade had an incredible amount to offer, and no matter what you listened to, some anthems will stay with you forever. We remember the - aptly named and extremely cool - Coolio and stepped into his "Gangsta's Paradise". There were screaming alarms when the boy bands came on stage, such as the Backstreet Boys. Then, of course, there was Britney Spears, who called out "Baby One More Time". And who remembers the breakneck flow in Scatman John's voice? Much copied at karaoke with friends, and you always embarrassed yourself because the lyrics just didn't want to flow like that and the dance beats always seemed a bit too fast (or slow?).
We first heard these sounds on the good old cassette (which is currently experiencing a bit of a revival, by the way). Then came CDs and with them the Discman. And with it came annoying experiences. What was it like back in the days before MP3s and streams, when the CD was jumping? Especially when you left it in the sun again or scratched it when you left it lying around.
All these memories come flooding back when the 90s party is on at the X-TRA and cassettes of hits from back then are playing. And that's a good thing, because after all, reminiscing is a good thing. Btw: If you want, you can also bring your gadgets from back then - tinted sunglasses included.
