Anyone who knows Jonny Fischer (39) and Manu Burkart (37) knows that their shows are funniest when something goes wrong. That's when they spontaneously make the best of it. A short interview with Jonny and Manu from cabaret duo DivertiMento.
When was the last time you made each other laugh?
Jonny: It happens almost every day. Manu always makes me laugh with his slapstick, I tend to make him laugh with words.
Manu: During the last show, I guess. Jonny made some spontaneous joke.
What was the last concert you went to?
Jonny: I went to a Seven concert. I don't think I've ever been to a concert with Manu.
Manu: At the farewell show of the Swiss metal band Cataract, who unfortunately gave their farewell concert at Kiff Aarau. Sniff!
When was the last time you had a fight?
When you work closely together, it happens from time to time. But we have a good culture of arguing. The last time was before Easter.
When was the last time you were surprised?
Jonny: When we noticed at the premiere of the program that it was already going down a treat and was really well received.
Manu: When I had to put together the garden pool for my children. A thousand individual parts! I'm a bad reader of instructions. In the end, it looked more like a greenhouse.
When was the last time you were nervous?
Jonny: I was extremely nervous before the premiere.
Manu: Yes, me too! Absolutely, before the premiere. The classic thought always comes up: "Why am I doing this to myself?"
When was the last time you had a mishap in your program?
Breakdowns happen every day. But they are always an opportunity for something new. And therefore an enrichment.
