Provinz will perform at the Hallenstadion in Zurich on November 24, 2027. For the band from Upper Swabia, this will be their biggest solo concert in Switzerland to date. Advance ticket sales begin on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 12 p.m.
Vogt is located in the Ravensburg district of Upper Swabia. In 2020, singer Vincent Waizenegger described his hometown in the magazine “Bewegungsmelder” as follows: “There are two main streets, and the entire village—plus a gas station—stretches along them.” The band hails from there, which is where they get their name.
Waizenegger, keyboardist Robin Schmid, and bassist Moritz Bösing are cousins. Their fathers used to make music together. The three of them rehearsed in Bösing’s father’s basement. Waizenegger and Schmid first played as a duo on the streets along Lake Constance. In 2017, drummer Leon Sennewald, a schoolmate of Waizenegger’s, joined the band. Through the Bandpool talent competition at the Popakademie Mannheim, the band made contacts with record labels. In 2019, they signed with Warner Music.
Their debut album, *Wir bauten uns Amerika*, reached No. 4 on the German album charts in 2020. *Zorn & Liebe* followed in 2022. With *Pazifik*, the band reached No. 1 for the first time in February 2025.
In Zurich, their rise is evident in the size of the venues. In October 2022, Provinz played at X-TRA. In March 2024, Halle 622—with a capacity of about 3,500—was sold out. They also performed at Open Air St. Gallen, the Gurtenfestival, Open Air Gampel, and the Winterthur Music Festival. The Hallenstadion holds up to 15,000 people.
The figures from their label, Gadget, reflect this success: over one billion streams, more than 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and over 135,000 tickets sold in 2025 alone. The single “Walzer” reached No. 1 on the TikTok charts. Provinz has recorded songs with Nina Chuba, Casper, Danger Dan, and $OHO BANI and has won the 1LIVE Krone three times. In June 2026, they played at Hurricane and Southside.
The single “Cry Baby Cry” was released on October 2, 2026. It gives the tour its name. In this track, Provinz draw inspiration from Britpop and British indie. The song is about the search for true love and encourages listeners to embrace pain, joy, and desire. The band has not yet announced a new album.
The four members have been living in Hamburg since 2023. With “Pazifik,” their lyrics have become more political, as heard in the song “Draussen ist Krieg.” Drummer Leon Sennewald told the *Schwäbische Zeitung* in 2025: “It’s the times that make us political.”
The “Cry Baby Cry” tour includes 14 concerts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Provinz will perform at the Hallenstadion in Zurich on Wednesday, November 24, 2027.
