Following the successful release of "Barcelona" alongside his colleague Ina Wroldsen, 26-year-old Alan Walker has announced a gigantic European tour starting in March 2025. On March 28, 2025, the internationally successful music producer and DJ from Norway will perform at "The Hall" in Dübendorf near Zurich.
Alan Walker is a global star: his song "Fade", which he first released in 2014 (later also acoustically as "Faded"), has gone gold three times, 84 times platinum and five times diamond.
The tour announcement comes at an extremely busy time for Walker: he has just released two hit new songs: "Unsure" with Disney star Kylie Cantrall and recently "Barcelona" with Ina Wroldsen.
Aside from music, Alan is also busier than ever with the creation and announcement of the Walkerworld Creator Games. The WCG is a fan-friendly and industry-leading initiative that invites its biggest supporters into the immersive Walkerworld in Fortnite, where they can then showcase relative creations/content for Alan to interact with.
In addition, to celebrate each stop on the European tour, Alan will seek out a local guest artist from among the online artists in each city. Those who use #WCG24 will have the chance to perform on stage in front of thousands of people.
event. had the opportunity to conduct a short interview with Alan Walker.
event: You wore your signature mask long before the pandemic. Why actually?
Alan Walker: Not because I wanted to hide. Rather, the mask should stand for equality and unity, I want to form a community with my fans. Anyone can put on a hoodie and a mask and become a "Walker". Before the pandemic, I had the advantage that nobody recognized me when I took off my mask. Because no one expected to see Alan Walker without a mask. During the pandemic, when I also wore it in private, I was therefore recognized more and more often.
How did you get into music?
Through programming, actually. I don't actually have any musical background: I neither played an instrument nor sang. But I wanted to know how this kind of music is created, and then I came into contact with the Youtuber DJ Ness. He explained the basics to me.
"You take me to another world with your music," wrote one fan in your comments. Is that your intention?
That's the nicest compliment you can pay me. That's exactly what I want to achieve. With my music and on my upcoming tour, I want to take my audience into the "Walkerverse".
What is the "Walkerverse" - something like the Metaverse?
A mysterious, secretive world that you can also see in my video clips. My director Kristian Berg always finds the most exciting locations, such as the satellite dish of an observatory in Armenia.
What kind of music do you prefer to listen to yourself?
Film soundtracks, music that also transports me to other worlds - for example by Hans Zimmer. He influenced me a lot with his powerful build-ups and strong melodies. I would love to do a movie soundtrack one day. It was a great honor for me to work with Hans Zimmer. I was allowed to do an official remix of his classic "Time".
Recently, Alan Walker has often appeared without a mask - like here with his girlfriend Viivi Niemi.
