Bligg has been shaping the Swiss music scene for three decades. The Zurich native combined rap with dialect and pop early on. Now the new album "The Bligg Picture" is being released. The biggest headlining show to date follows on December 5 at the Hallenstadion Zurich. The anniversary show will cover everything from the early rap years to current songs.
Bligg is one of the defining voices of Swiss dialect rap. His career began in the 1990s in the Zurich hip-hop scene. Back then, classic rap beats and battle lyrics dominated. However, his flair for catchy hooks and local stories became apparent early on.
The album "0816" was his decisive breakthrough. Songs such as "Rosalie" and "Manhattan" went far beyond the rap scene. Bligg reached an audience that had previously had little contact with dialect rap. His lyrics remained direct and close to everyday life.
"The Bligg Picture" will be released in October 2026. With this album, Bligg looks back on his career to date. It represents 30 years of emotions, creative work, making music, writing history and getting to know many generations. In short: for his big picture - hence the chosen album title.
The anniversary show on December 5 at the Hallenstadion Zurich will reflect this development live. A musical journey through 30 years of his career is planned. For Bligg, the anniversary is doubly special. The musician turns 50 this year. Numerous companions will join him on stage at the Hallenstadion. This also brings into focus the aspect that has always characterized his career: his openness to different musical styles and creative partnerships. The show will therefore not only deliver great hits, but also bring together emotional moments from three decades of Swiss music history through the surprise guests.
The concert should show why Bligg remains an exceptional figure to this day. Hardly any other Swiss act has combined dialect rap, pop and folk culture so consistently over several generations.
