Genetikk break their live silence after seven years. The masked rap duo Kappa and Sikk from Saarbrücken are going on tour in 2026 and will also be performing in Switzerland. Genetikk will be playing at Komplex 457 in Zurich on April 14, by which time they say they plan to release numerous new tracks.
Genetikk have relied on a visual trademark for over a decade: Masks that conceal their identity and draw the focus to the music. In terms of content, the duo combines socio-critical observations with an independent aesthetic that draws on influences from US rap and French hip-hop. The beats are mainly self-produced, characterized by analog drums, melancholic melodies and concise bass lines.
The upcoming 2026 tour marks their first major concert series in seven years. Although there have been a few festival appearances in the meantime, there has been no full live program. The announcement has caused a stir in the scene, not least because Genetikk have only performed sporadically in public in recent years.
Genetikk announced on Instagram that they would be releasing several new songs before the start of the tour. Details on album titles or possible guest appearances have not yet been confirmed. However, the announcements so far suggest a creative phase that is likely to be reflected in both the production and the performance.
With the combination of new material and classics from their repertoire, the tour promises a varied set that reflects their different musical facets - from dark storytelling to energetic battle tracks. It will therefore be a return that appeals to both loyal fans and new listeners.
For Swiss fans, the date on April 14, 2026 at Zurich's Komplex 457 is therefore a highlight.
