Martin Suter and Stephan Eicher on a Swiss tour with «Song Book Vol. 2»

03/11/2026 written by Dominik

Martin Suter and Stephan Eicher are continuing their collaboration: With «Song Book Vol. 2» the writer and the musician will embark on a Swiss tour in the spring of 2027. Ten concerts are scheduled from March 30 through April 14.

The collaboration between Martin Suter and Stephan Eicher began long before their first joint «Song Book». As early as 2007, Suter wrote the lyrics for «Weiss nid was es isch» on Eicher’s album «Eldorado». This was followed by the musical «Geri» (2010) and additional collaborative songs on «L’Envolée» (2012).

In 2017, the two finally released their first «Song Book». The blend of Suter’s stories and Eicher’s music was also well-received on stage: The 2018 concerts and the additional shows in 2019 sold out quickly.

Ten years later, the sequel, «Song Book Vol. 2», is now here. Suter and Eicher once again combine literature and music. The focus is on new songs and stories that shift between poetry, melancholy, and humor.

«The lyrics I’ve written for Stephan Eicher are perhaps the work I’m most proud of,» says Martin Suter about their long-standing collaboration.

On March 1, 2027, the two will celebrate the premiere at the Zurich Opera House. Afterward, they’ll tour Switzerland with a full band. Eicher will handle guitar and vocals, while Suter brings his lyrics and stories to the stage.
