Of Monsters and Men have been known worldwide since their hit «Little Talks». Now the Icelandic band is coming to Switzerland for a concert on March 5, 2026. Fans can look forward to characterful storytelling and plenty of depth.
The Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men from Keflavík and Garðabær was founded in 2010. They quickly developed their own sound, combining Nordic melancholy with catchy choruses. In their founding year, they won the national music competition «Músíktilraunir», which brought them initial attention in their home country. The international breakthrough was not long in coming: the band released their debut album «My Head Is an Animal» in 2011.
The song «Little Talks» became the band's calling card. With its striking brass intro, the interplay between the voices of Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir and Ragnar Þórhallsson and its profound subject matter (the good old relationship box), the song struck a chord with a wide audience. It reached number one on Billboard Alternative Songs in the USA and made it into the top ten in several European countries. Even years later, «Little Talks» remains one of the defining indie pop songs of the 2010s.
The debut was followed by the albums «Beneath the Skin» (2015) and «Fever Dream» (2019), with which Of Monsters and Men further developed their sound. Electronic elements came more to the fore without losing their characteristic storytelling approach. Live, the band impresses with a dynamic structure and atmospheric staging. Despite the long breaks between releases, interest in the band remains high – not least because of their special connection to their Icelandic origins, which they continue to incorporate both sonically and visually.
Anyone who would like to experience Of Monsters and Men live will have the opportunity to do so on March 5, 2026. The Icelandic band will be performing at the X-TRA in Zurich. Live Club members can get tickets for the concert from September 10 at 10 am. Tickets will then go on sale to the general public on September 12, also at 10 am.
