The US band is back with «Your Favorite Toy». The new album shows the Foo Fighters between powerful rock and reduced moments.
Since the late 1990s, the Foo Fighters have stood for straightforward alternative rock with a penchant for big hooks. Founded by Dave Grohl after the end of Nirvana, the band quickly became a mainstay in mainstream rock. Their sound: broad guitar pads, clear song structures, carried by Grohl's distinctive voice.
«Your Favorite Toy» was announced on February 19, 2026, at the same time as the title track. According to the official announcement, this song was the spark for the album's sound and dynamics. The new record was produced together with Oliver Roman and recorded in a home recording setup. The band's new line-up is also particularly noteworthy. «Your Favorite Toy» is the Foo Fighters' first studio album with drummer Ilan Rubin.
The lean track list with ten songs full of energy and sadness is convincing. The twelfth album is the next chapter in coming to terms with the death of long-time drummer Taylor Hawkins. «Your Favorite Toy» is therefore perhaps the band's most intense work ever.
With their new record in the bag, the Foo Fighters are now going on tour. The tour starts on April 28th in Bridgeport, Connecticut (USA). Stops in Europe are also planned, including Oslo, Munich, Paris, Vienna, Milan and Madrid. Unfortunately, the tour dates do not include a date in Switzerland.
