British hard rock band Uriah Heep are also stopping off in Switzerland on their "The Magician Farewell" tour. On October 23, 2025, they will perform at the Salle Métropole in Lausanne before heading to the X-Tra in Zurich on November 6, 2025.
Uriah Heep is one of the defining bands of hard rock. Since its formation in 1969, the British band has released more than 25 studio albums. Songs such as "Easy Livin'", "Lady in Black" and "July Morning" shaped the band's typical sound with distinctive vocals, powerful guitars and Hammond organ. Even after more than five decades, Uriah Heep are still active both in the studio and on stage.
The name Uriah Heep comes from the novel "David Copperfield" by Charles Dickens. In the story, Uriah Heep is the conniving antagonist of the protagonist. According to the band, it was formed on the 100th birthday of the author Charles Dickens. This is how the connection between the novel and the name Uriah Heep, which is now inextricably linked with classic hard rock, came about.
As part of their "The Magician's Farewell" tour, the hard rockers from Uriah Heep will also be making two stops in Switzerland. On October 23, they will be playing at the Salle Métropole in Lausanne. After stops in Austria and Germany, Uriah Heep will return to Switzerland on November 6, 2025, when they will once again grace Swiss audiences at the X-Tra in Zurich.
