Ten years after 24K Magic, Bruno Mars is releasing his fourth solo album. «The Romantic» is the first independent release in a decade and therefore a moment that is relevant not only for fans, but for the entire music landscape.
Bruno Mars, whose real name is Peter Gene Hernandez, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and grew up in a family of musicians. He performed on stage from an early age and later moved to Los Angeles, where he initially worked as a songwriter. His breakthrough came in 2010 with the album «Doo-Wops & Hooligans», followed by «Unorthodox Jukebox» and the funk-soaked «24K Magic». Even after the release of his last solo album in 2016, Bruno Mars was by no means idle. In addition to numerous concerts in Las Vegas, a tribute performance for Prince at the 2017 Grammy Awards and a concert in Israel, he collaborated as a guest musician with Lady Gaga («Die with a Smile») and the Korean artist Rosé («Apt.»).
With The Romantic, Bruno Mars is now releasing his first solo album since 2016, with which he picks up on his roots and sets new accents at the same time. The album contains nine Latin pop songs and, as the album title suggests, has a specific theme: love. The song titles from «Risk It All» to «Something Serious» and «Nothing Left» to «Dance With Me» speak a clear language. In the album, the singer and songwriter tells the story of a love story.
Alongside the album, Bruno Mars announced an international tour in January. Concerts in North America and Europe have already been confirmed. A date in Switzerland is not planned.
