After a seven-year break, the legendary nu-metal band Linkin Park has made an impressive return. With a new front woman and fresh energy, the group is not only presenting a new album, but also a world tour that will electrify fans worldwide. On Fri June 20, 2025, they will be coming to Bernexpo in Bern as part of their "From Zero World Tour 2025".
The band, which took the music world by storm at the end of the 90s with its unique blend of metal, rock, rap and electronic sounds, went through a long period of reorientation following the tragic loss of their singer Chester Bennington in 2017. Now they are returning with 38-year-old Emily Armstrong, known from the band Dead Sara, as their new voice.
The upcoming album "From Zero", which will be released on November 15, promises to be an exciting fusion of the characteristic Linkin Park sound and new influences. Mike Shinoda, co-founder and rapper of the band, emphasizes that the album title symbolizes both the band's beginnings and the new start. "Sonically and emotionally, it's about the past, present and future - our signature sound, but new and full of life," he explains.
Fans' anticipation was further fueled by an hour-long livestream concert from Los Angeles, during which the band presented its new line-up. In addition to Armstrong on the microphone, Colin Brittain also appeared as the new drummer. The single "The Emptiness Machine" already gives a foretaste of the band's new musical direction.
Swiss fans will be particularly pleased to hear that Linkin Park will also be performing in Bern as part of their world tour: on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Bernexpo.
Linkin Park's return not only marks a new chapter in the band's history, but also in the development of the nu-metal genre. With their ability to evolve musically while staying true to their roots, the band once again proves their relevance in the modern music landscape.
It remains to be seen how Emily Armstrong will fill the big shoes of Chester Bennington, but initial reactions to her performances are promising. With this comeback, Linkin Park want to prove that they are still one of the most influential and popular rock bands in the world.
