The fascinating world beneath the ocean’s surface takes center stage in a special concert production. «BBC Our Blue Planet III – Live In Concert» combines stunning nature footage with a live performance of the film’s score. On May 18, 2027, the show will stop at the Hallenstadion in Zurich, and on May 19, 2027, the spectacle will be presented at the Arena Genève. The audience can look forward to an audiovisual journey into the depths of the oceans, accompanied by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
The BBC series «Our Blue Planet» offers glimpses into an underwater world that usually remains hidden from most people. This live concert production brings that visual world to the stage: Selected footage from «Blue Planet III» will be shown on an Ultra-HD LED screen measuring approximately 200 square meters. The stunning images provide the visual backdrop for a concert experience centered on the beauty and diversity of the oceans.
The combination of nature documentary and orchestral music lends the film sequences an extra touch of magic. Rather than letting the footage speak for itself, the action on screen is accompanied by a film score created specifically for the series. This creates an interplay of moving images and sounds that brings the underwater world to life in a unique way.
The music for «Our Blue Planet III» was composed by Hans Zimmer, who collaborated with Thom Lukas and Laurentia Editha on the score. In Zurich and Geneva, the soundtrack will be performed live by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. The orchestra accompanies the scenes on screen, allowing the audience to experience the musical dimension of the nature documentary up close in the concert hall.
By combining an orchestral performance with large-format nature imagery, the event appeals to both fans of classical film music and those who are passionate about the marine world. The show blends expert knowledge with the fascinating underwater world.
