Giulia Becker and Chris Sommer record their podcast “Drinnies” from home. In 2027, they’ll go on tour with their indoor tour “Draussen.” On September 29, 2027, they’ll perform at the Volkshaus in Zurich.
“We hope you’re doing well, and if not, that’s okay, too.” That’s how every episode begins. Giulia Becker and Chris Sommer record “Drinnies” in an attic in Cologne. Their topic: the lives of introverts. Drinnies prefer the couch to any party. They look for excuses to have a beer after work. They’d rather observe the world from the inside. In 2027, the two will step out of their comfort zone. They’ll go outside. And then back inside—into the concert halls, live in front of an audience. The tour is called “Draussen.”
The podcast has won the German Podcast Award three times, including for Best Talk Team and Best Independent Podcast. Becker and Sommer both write for “ZDF Magazin Royale.” Chris Sommer grew up in Aargau. The Drinnies made their live debut at three concert halls in Germany, including the famous Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. The shows were not recorded. What happens in the hall stays in the hall.
The announcement promises beautiful weather, blue skies, action, a party, and “glitz and glamour,” as they call it. There will be laughter, tears, and at least one “heartfelt thank you.” Anyone who listens to the podcast knows the inside jokes. Anyone who doesn’t will learn them that evening. The organizers call the tour a spectacle unlike any other. With the caveat: as of now.
On Wednesday, September 29, 2027, at 8 p.m., the Drinnies will perform at the Volkshaus in Zurich.
