3400 years later: the fascinating world of ancient Egypt comes to life in Zurich. The immersive exhibition "Tutankhamun - the immersive exhibition experience" takes visitors back to an era in which the gods of the land of the pyramids ruled and imposing temples dominated the landscape. Until May 4 in the Lichthalle Maag in Zurich.
The exhibition focuses on the discovery of the tomb of the pharaoh Tutankhamun, which made the British archaeologist Howard Carter world-famous on November 4, 1922. Visitors have the opportunity to experience this archaeological sensation at first hand, accompanied by the original voice of Carter.
The exhibition combines technology with historical accuracy. An impressive virtual reality experience transports visitors directly into Tutankhamun's burial chamber in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor. In an interactive experience room, guests can learn more about hieroglyphics and slip into the role of an archaeologist to discover full-size treasures.
A special highlight is the full-body virtual reality area: here, visitors become the protagonists of a captivating journey through the ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead. They face the trials of the Osiris court and have the chance to attain "eternal life" on the fields of Lalu - in the ancient Egyptian afterlife.
The exhibition uses 3D mapping projection technology to project graphics, animations and videos onto three-dimensional objects. This creates an immersive atmosphere that plunges us into the world of ancient Egypt.
In addition to the technological innovation, the exhibition also pays tribute to Howard Carter's artistic skills. His detailed drawings and paintings of tomb scenes and temple reliefs, which have been published in many specialist publications, testify to his talent as an artist and his passion for Egyptian culture.
