Sometimes dreams come true: at the end of April, four girls will be taking part in the Zurich performances of the hit musical "Evita". We attended the casting.
A child also sings in the globally successful musical Evita: A girl asks the president's wife for her blessing. To cast this role, the production team called for auditions in Zurich. 40 girls aged between seven and eleven came to the first audition. Only 22 made it onto the shortlist and received an invitation. The dream of singing in the musical will only be fulfilled for four girls - they will take turns playing the role in Zurich.
Our video team attended the casting at Theater 11. Casting director Gary Hickeson is delighted with the girls. He enthuses: "I am deeply impressed by the children's clear English."
It is now known which four overjoyed girls have been accepted for the role: Paulina from Winterthur, Sonila from Wettswil, Sasha from Bern and Celebi from Winterthur, who particularly stood out, he says. You can admire the four of them at the performances at Theater 11 in Zurich from 25 to 30 April 2017.
The date of the children's casting for the season at the Musical Theater Basel from 11 to 16 July 2017 will be announced at a later date.
