To mark the 100th anniversary of the Swiss National Circus Knie in 2019, dynasty scion and artist Rolf Knie (68) is planning something special: in "Knie - the Circus Musical", the eventful history of the Knie dynasty will be presented in an exciting, entertaining and interesting way, as the producers announced today.
Unknown aspects of the long-standing Knie dynasty will be brought back to life on stage. Musical performers and artists will appear on stage together and tell the story with song and dance interludes. The authors are Rolf Knie, Peter Pfändler, Patric Scott and Martin de Vries.
The musical will be performed for the first time on March 12, 2019.
The actors are already being sought. Auditions will take place on February 12 and 19, 2018 in Zurich. "An advertisement will appear tomorrow Friday in the trade magazine
Musicals", says production manager Gérard Jenni.
Among others, we are looking for singing, acting and movement talents for the roles of the circus epigones Friedrich (senior and junior), Marie, Karl, Rudolf and Eugen Knie, as well as other first-class actors, musicians and acrobats.
The creative team of Rolf Knie, Jir Menzel and Simon Eichenberger will decide who will definitely be in the show, with rehearsals starting on January 21, 2019.
Rolf Knie and his team will present the "Knie - the Circus Musical" project to the public in detail at the end of March 2018. Ticket sales will also begin then. Performances are planned in DübendorfZH as well as in Bern and Basel.
