Sven Epiney: "Kim Wilde got me on stage as a teenager"

10/10/2017 written by Michel Imhof
At regular intervals, we talk to a celebrity about their concert behavior. This time: presenter Sven Epiney (45).

Sven, are you a big concert-goer?
Definitely. Experiencing an artist or a band live is simply something completely different. It's great to immerse yourself in this world for a few hours.

What was the last concert you went to?
I've just been to the Frauenfeld Openair. A gigantic backdrop and a great atmosphere. We even had the opportunity to look behind the scenes - that was very impressive.
"I flew all the way to Prague to see Coldplay."

Which concert was the best for you so far?
Coldplay! I'm a big fan of the British pop-rock band and have already been to a few of their concerts. As I couldn't go to their concert in Bern for scheduling reasons, I flew to Prague especially to see the guys.

Which concert will you go to next?
On September 2, I'm going to see Robbie Williams at the Letzigrund stadium in Zurich.

What do you think of musicals?
I've experienced everything from horrible to fascinatingly beautiful! I particularly like "The Book of Mormon", and if you'd rather have it done with a big ladle, you should see "The Lion King".

What was your first concert? How old were you then?
I was a huge Kim Wilde fan as a teenager. When she played in our town, I sneaked into the sound check as a 14-year-old young radio reporter. A security man was about to drag me out of the hall by my ears when Kim Wilde took pity on me, invited me on stage with her and even invited me to the concert. An unforgettable experience!

Have you ever left early at a concert?
That has happened, but not because the concert was so bad, but because I still had to edit the concert report that went on air after the concert.
