Vera Dillier: "Elvis inspired me"

17/10/2017 written by Michel Imhof
At regular intervals, we talk to a celebrity about their concert behavior. This time: jet-set lady Vera Dillier (age unknown).

Vera, are you a concert-goer?
Not fanatically. If I really want to see someone or I'm invited, I like to go to concerts.

Who else do you really want to see?
Céline Dion and Alice Cooper. Her voice is wonderful and I met Alice Cooper at a party. Unfortunately, I can't go to the next concert because I'll be abroad.

But you have already seen other mega stars.
Yes, two in particular are worth mentioning: I was at Elvis Presley's second-to-last concert. I was in Los Angeles and was only able to organize tickets through contacts. I was very pleasantly surprised: Elvis had an incredible amount that I will probably never see again at a concert. I also witnessed Frank Sinatra's last performance at the Red Cross Ball in Monaco. He did it as a favor for the princely family, but he was no longer fit and had to read out some of the lyrics to his songs.

What do you think of festivals and open airs?
That's not my world. There are too many people, it's too noisy, you have to sit in the dirt, everyone drinks beer - which I don't drink anyway - or smokes joints. That's already too much for me. When I was 19, that might have been more my world, but today that's no longer possible.

Have you ever left an event early?
No. Even if I don't really enjoy an event, I find it rude and hurtful to simply leave early. If I decide to go somewhere, I go through with it.

Where will people never see you?
At a Madonna concert. I don't watch artists who are constantly looking at their watch because they want to catch the last flight so they don't sleep in Zurich.
