Bryan Adams has been thrilling music fans all over the world for decades. On June 2, he will be performing at the Hallenstadion. We asked him about Switzerland, his vegan diet and social media.
You worked with Jeff Lynne from the Electric Light Orchestra on your new album "Get Up". Your conclusion?
I think it's the best production since "18 Til I Die". Working with Jeff was great, he understands my style of music and I'm a big fan of his. It was great.
What was important in the album production?
Compared to my other albums, this production was probably the easiest. I worked with Jim Vallance again, the composer of "Summer of 69", we've known each other for a long time. We wrote songs without any schedule or pressure, and suddenly the album was finished.
What is different these days when you write music?
My daughter sits next to me and wants to play along.
What can people expect from your new tour?
A lot of music. I recently played the longest show of my career. When that happens, it has to go just right.
In the US state of North Carolina, a law was passed that discriminates against transgender people. As a result, you canceled your concert there.
I don't usually believe in cultural boycotts. But many of my colleagues at work are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transsexual, and I want to show solidarity with them. The USA is a country that sets an example, and this new law is a good example of intolerance from some religious people.
Why are you vegan?
I've been vegan for 30 years because animals are my friends. And I don't eat my friends.
What do you think of when you think of Switzerland?
That "hands up" thing that the Swiss always do at concerts!

It's a great way to waste a lot of time.
