"Sons of bitches, Nazi eaters" - Faber almost makes light of weighty words in his songs. That suits him. The Zurich musician doesn't even mention who he actually is without being asked - namely the son of the famous Italian singer-songwriter Pippo Pollina.
The "father musician - son, too" fad is repugnant to the Zurich native. That's why the singer-songwriter calls himself Faber. But he inherited his talent from his father.
Listening to his chansons, you wouldn't think that this singer is only 23 years old. His warm voice is far too mature and deep, telling the story of a life that seems to have been a long time ago.
In fact, this is not Faber's first time on stage with his folk solo project. With his school band Babyflipper, he celebrated success with German-language music ten years ago.
If you can't swim, you dive
The combo won the renowned "Band-it" competition. This was followed by over 100 concerts - with a band or solo "as an Italian amante", as Faber himself says.
The musician lives in Zurich, but has wanderlust. The big stages are already waiting. "Only the really stupid fish swim against the current," Faber ironically sings in one of his songs. Being different from the others - that's his thing.
Incidentally, his stage name is derived from the novel "Homo Faber" by Max Frisch. And he actually wanted to call himself Homo instead of Faber at first, which simply didn't work out for "obvious reasons".
