No other country offers such a high density of festivals as Switzerland - and now the quality is also increasing. A clear trend in 2018 in the festival mecca of Switzerland: more experiences, more comfort. Culinary offerings and supporting programs are being expanded almost everywhere, and newcomer stages are bringing fresh impetus. Once again, the line-ups are also first-class - many international stars also enjoy coming to the Swiss open-air stages. In our special, we focus on the big and traditional events. You can find out more at ticketcorner.ch.
Greenfield
In the otherwise tranquil tourist mecca of Interlaken, there's always three days of rocking out at the beginning of June. Only the tough get into the garden here. Neck problems are drank away here in an alternative way, hair must fly. People with short haircuts can be seen on the sidelines, making a pact with themselves never to go to a hairdressing salon again. And yet there is a mountain of a man at the entrance, long-haired and war-painted, comforting a heartbroken girl. Tough but warm. There is free camping and a broad supporting program, from the party village to the medieval market. The Member Village is new: more comfort and space, but still only a guitar's throw away from the Jungfrau Stage.

Volbeat, The Prodigy, Limp Bizkit, The Offspring, Arch Enemy, Zeal & Ardor

Openair St. Gallen
The phrase "We can still sleep when we're dead" fits no festival as well as it does at Sittertobel, where people party the summer away for four days at the end of June. Well, 70 percent of the time you have to hold on to the tent pole to sleep here anyway - if you've found it and don't fall headfirst down the slope over a tent cord When other festivals are over, it's just getting started in St. Gallen. Under no circumstances should it rain. But if it doesn't rain, you stand there on the last afternoon with a sunburnt nose and wonder in amazement: Did it even happen without a mud bath? New this year is the Plaza, a small area with a stage with street artists, design and layout.
Line up
Depeche Mode, The Killers, Sigri, Nine Inch Nails, Chvrches, Jess Glynne, Faber, Portugal. The Man, Angus & Julia Stone, Editors, Kungs, Jungle, Lo & Leduc, Feine Sahne Fischfilet and others.

Montreux Jazz Festival
"Montreux is the vinyl of festivals," says director Mathieu Jaton, who has skilfully continued the 50-year-old event since Claude Nobs' death. In addition to the program with its extra-wide range of music legends and the very latest discoveries in all genres from jazz to rock, pop and electro, there is also the absolutely unforgettable atmosphere on the lakeside promenade and the free concerts. This year we are looking forward to the "House of Jazz" in the Petit Palais.

For the first time, the gates will open on Thursday and two newcomer bands from Band X Nordwest will be given the chance to make a name for themselves on Thursday (free entry!).

St. Gallen Culture Festival
In the twelve years since its launch, Kulturfestival St. Gallen has evolved from an insider tip into a special festival for music lovers of singer/songwriters, world music, electronica, jazz, funk, hip-hop and soul. Normally, 15 concert evenings of all styles take place over three weeks. This year there are unfortunately a few fewer concerts because of King Football, but there will be public viewing from the round of 16 onwards. The ambience of the inner courtyard, in the middle of the city park, between the old walls of the Historical and Ethnological Museum, and the selected culinary offer also contribute to the charm.
Line up
Naked and Famous, Soja, Oddisee & Good Compny and others.

Gurten
The Güsche, as the people of Bern affectionately call their Gurten Festival, is a classic with its 80,000 visitors and four festival days. The ascent to the festival site is celebrated just as much as the days that follow. The Gurten-Humpen, which is as much a part of the festival as the stop at the GüscheBar above the middle station, is used to get drunk. 2018 brings more freedom of movement: the Waldbühne stage with the Swiss bands is upgraded and given a new location. The festival area will be enlarged, but no more visitors will be allowed - thus taking into account the objection that it is always very crowded on the Gurten. The 3 dance tents are given a new look.
Line up
Gorillaz, Prophets of Rage, Alt J, Cro, Angus & Julia Stone, Bonez MC & Raf Camora, Damin "Jr. Gong" Marley, Kraftklub, Milky Chance, MØ, Two Door Cinema Club. Tobias Carshey and others
