Jack Savoretti loves Switzerland and Switzerland loves him. The English-Italian singer-songwriter spent a few years of his youth in Lugano.
"They were the best years of my life," enthuses the singer with the soul-soaked voice about his time in Ticino, where he lived for a long time after his childhood in London. Back in England, Jack Savoretti became a star with his debut album "Between The Minds" in 2007. In this country, he made his breakthrough last year with the album "Written In Scars". Radio stations played his folky-rocking single "Back To Me" up and down. The enthusiasm not only spread from England to Switzerland, but also to Germany and France.
Now Jack Savoretti is back with new material. The grating voice and the charming Italian accent have remained. In terms of songwriting, he has once again increased his energy. The new single "When We Were Lovers" pushes forward nicely - just like his career.
"I've had my ass kicked, but I'm still here."
However, his musical career almost came to an end five years ago. "I hated the music industry," reveals Savoretti. The singer sacrificed two years and all his savings for a legal dispute with a former manager. Then something unexpected happened: "I wrote more than ever before." The musician started all over again. It was worth it. "Now I'm even more successful than I was back then," he says proudly. "I got my ass kicked, but I'm still here."
The father of two returns to Switzerland on February 6, 2017. He will be presenting the new album "Sleep No More" at the X-TRA.
