Other newcomers with star potential in Lucerne this year are: the singer Ala.ni - with a mixture of soul, jazz and pop, Ibeyi with fresh world music; The Temperance Movement provide modern blues rock, the Swedish soul-pop Seinabo Sey will cause a stir with her voice, chart-topper Kwabs shares an evening with Sohn, and singer/songwriter Bry presents his debut album. And that's not all: Sóley is one of the most important musicians on the Icelandic scene, Zola Jesus combines avant-garde with indie pop, and Jamie Lawson's career has taken off since he started working with Ed Sheeran.
Seal, one of the biggest soul stars, returns to Lucerne and performs in the KKL concert hall for the first time. Another returnee is Laura Mvula, the Blue Balls Face 13, who is playing her first Swiss headline show. The big acts: Air, Son, Vintage Trouble, Keb' Mo', KT Tunstall, Seal, Milky Chance, Steven Wilson, Charles Bradley, James Arthur, Frances, Katie Melua, The Corrs, Corinne Bailey Rae, 2041, Kool Savas, Laura Mvula and Airbourne.
Another 50 acts will be playing on the side stages.
Video art, Blur film and live graffiti
As always, Blue Balls offers much more than just music: visitors can also enjoy photography, art, video, film and talks. Live painting and graffiti artworks by national and international artists are created daily - and can be purchased afterwards. To be shown for the first time in Switzerland at the Blue Balls Festival: the film "Blur - New World Towers", a movie about the inner life of the British pop band Blur. In the Video Lounge: Video Art by Michael Wyshock. In the talk show "Meet the artists", presenter Hannes Hug gets to grips with the artists live.
Tickets for the talk show will be distributed free of charge to fans from 6 pm in front of the KKL main entrance.
Over 120 events can be attended in Lucerne around the lake basin over nine days.
