Festival director Thomas Dürr says which moment he is most looking forward to.

Series: Festival Summer 2017 | Episode 11: Summerstage

What is special about your festival this year?
We were able to further expand the range of Swiss artists. The "Swiss Music Night" has established itself.

Which acts are you particularly proud of?
We are proud to have Passenger at the Summerstage Festival for the first time. Söhne Mannheims, including frontman Xavier Naidoo, are also a live sensation that we don't want to deprive our fans of. They opened our festival in 2011, so we are all the more delighted that they have found their way to the most beautiful festival area in Switzerland.

What criteria did you use to put together the line-up?
We offer a colorful mix of music that is interesting for people of all ages. Our festival is also visited by many families with children.

What else is on offer besides the music? Culinary, for example? Other attractions?
The beautiful surroundings, of course, and a wide range of food and drink.

Festivals don't have a dress code. But is there anything you should bear in mind when it comes to clothing and outfits?
You should take a closer look at the weather forecast. It can get very warm very quickly when the sun is shining. You should definitely take sunscreen with you and wear light clothing. If it rains, which we hope it won't, it's a good idea to bring waterproof clothing, as umbrellas are not allowed.

What moment are you personally looking forward to the most?
The moment when thousands of people clap, cheer and shout.

What was the most memorable/beautiful experience you have had with the festival?
The performance by Deep Purple was something very special. The rock veterans really warmed up the people of Basel.

How would you describe your festival briefly and concisely in a tweet (max. 140 characters)?
