Eleven of the biggest stars of the Montreux Jazz Festival talk about their most moving moments on the Montreux stage. They do so in video interviews, most of which were recorded during the 2015 festival. The festival has just published the new, exclusive web series with the interviews.
In the web series, stars such as Santana, Dianne Reeves, George Benson, Angélique Kidjo and Quincy Jones talk about their views and feelings during their many performances in Montreux. The festival celebrated its 50th anniversary this summer.
Practically all of these videos were produced during the 2015 festival. The concept was to show the music legends excerpts from their own concerts, which they then commented on in the video. The result is a moving document of the times.
George Benson comments on his 1991 concert in Montreux, where he performed together with Ray Charles and Chaka Khan. "Chaka Khan didn't know the lyrics to "This Masquerade" at all," he explains while watching the concert on video. "But I love every moment of that concert!"
The videos feature Santana, Dianne Reeves, Al Jarreau, John Mc Laughlin, George Benson, Charles Lloyd, Angelique Kidjo, David Sandborn, Quincy Jones, Carlos Santana, Marcus Miller and Gilberto Gil.
