N for "Neighbors": Which Australian star hasn't actually starred in the sitcom "Neighbours"? Kylie Minogue was in it, as were Jason Donovan and Natalie Imbruglia (from 1992 to 1994) - and they all used the TV comedy extremely successfully as a springboard into the pop business.
A for arrogance: In the music business, Natalie experiences what happens to many beautiful singers: Her lipstick and the man at her side are more interesting than her music. This week, the Australian was once again spotted holding hands with a "stranger" on the streets of London, making it into the gossip columns of the British tabloids. Her latest album "Male", on which she reinterprets great songs by great men, made much smaller headlines. Although it was warmly praised by critics and brought the singer back on stage after a six-year break.
T for "Torn": The year Britain laid Princess Diana to rest and swore in Tony Blair as Prime Minister, Natalie wept for her love. Her coverversion hit "Torn" went around the world in 1997. Radiostations played the ballad up and down. Imbruglia's first album "Left Of The Middle" went on to sell over 6.5 million copies.
A for eagerness to work: You really can't accuse the Australian of being overzealous. Instead of constantly being in the studio, she prefers to withdraw into her private life. Five albums in twenty years - ambition looks different. During her long breaks, she does a bit of acting or writes songs for films. But only very selectively.
L for love: As the 42-year-old laments in her megahit: Even the most beautiful love is finite. At the end of 2003, she married the Australian rock star Daniel Johns (38). Almost four years later, they separated. Since then, she has kept her private life even more secret than before.
I for "Intimate Acoustic Tour": Imbruglia starts her Europeantour in Moscow on April 22. A total of 24 concerts are scheduled on smaller stages, "because the atmosphere is right there". The musician remains true to her style: she intones her "male" songswith a clear, soft voice and puts her stamp on them with little fuss. Right down to the last letter of her first name ...
E - the End.
