One becomes four. The second album by What Josephine Saw marks the dawn of a new era for the Zurich indie combo. Instead of just the singer, the whole band now sings. Time to take a closer look at the indie rock band.
"There Is More" is the name of the first single from the new album. That's right. Instead of just one, there are now four singing voices. After the departure of two musicians, the band wanted to continue in unison. So without a lead singer, but as a vocal quartet, so to speak. That's good for What Josephine Saw. Dimitri, Max, Giulian and Jannik bring even more depth to their songs. The first single shows: There really is more - musically too. Matching the video with the bicycle race, the song really pushes forward.
Despite all the new beginnings, the love for France has remained. Just like their debut album, What Josephine Saw also recorded their second album "Set A Fire" in Brittany. They did so together with Irish producer David Odlum, who had already worked with dEUS and The Frames. The album is a snapshot of four days in the studio. The band has dispensed with artificial effects or elaborate computer processing, instead adding surf sounds to the indie rock.
If you like an energetic, expansive indie sound and like to take your time for three-minute guitar solos, you shouldn't miss the upcoming shows by What Josephine Saw.
