The AXA Women's Super League reaches its season climax with the final on May 26, 2024 in the Stockhorn Arena in Thun. After an intense regular season and hard-fought play-off matches so far, we can look forward to an exciting final for the Swiss championship.
In 2024, the final match of the AXA Women's Super League (AWSL) will take place in the Stockhorn Arena in Thun for the first time. It is not yet known which two teams will face each other on the pitch of the arena, which opened in 2011, on Sunday, May 26. In the two semi-final first legs last weekend, FC Zurich gained an initial advantage against FC Basel 1893 (1:2 for FC Zurich) and Servette FC Chênois Féminin against BSC YB-Frauen (0:4 for Servette FCCF).
Unlike in the men's Super League, the finalists in the AXA Women's Super League are decided in the playoffs after the regular season. The eight best teams from the regular season play for the Swiss championship title in the playoffs. The two last-placed teams in the AWSL compete against the two best teams in National League B in the promotion/relegation round to determine the two promoted and relegated teams.
The two semi-final second legs of the AWSL will take place next weekend. FC Zurich will host FC Basel 1893 on Saturday, May 18, at 6 p.m. in the Herrenschürli. Servette FC Chênois Féminin will then play BSC YB Frauen on Sunday, May 19, at 4 p.m. at the Stade de la Fontenette. Exciting second legs are guaranteed.
