It's that time again on September 1: Swiss NHL stars Roman Josi and Mark Streit are collecting money for the Red Cross.
The 2017 edition of "The Duel" will take place for the third time. Once again this year, the two NHL stars will compete against each other with their respective celebrity teams in the PostFinance Arena in Bern. All for a good cause: the proceeds will be used to support children's and youth projects run by the Swiss Red Cross.
But before the two teams face each other on the field hockey pitch, Roman Josi and Mark Streit fight for the first point in the "Summer Challenge". What's at stake: Josi and Streit encourage their fans to support their team by jumping from the 1-meter diving board into the water. Either with a text message donation or with their own water jump. The winning team takes a 1:0 lead before kick-off. The videos of Josiah and Streit's water jump will be published on
blick.ch this week.
Even "Glanz&Gloria" presenter Annina Frey ventures onto the ice
The two NHL stars will then fight for victory on the field hockey field. They can count on celebrity support. Among others, ski crack Carlo Janka, wrestling king Matthias Sempach, field hockey superstar Nino Niederreiter and SRF presenter Annina Frey will be on the ice for Team Josi. Mark Streit's team includes illustrious names such as former ski racer Dominique Gisin, Patent Ochsner singer Büne Huber, former national team star Kubilay Türkyilmaz and - for a physical presence on the ice - wrestler Christian Stucki.
