GUITAR FESTIVAL AT Z7
It doesn’t get much more guitar-heavy than this: Krissy Matthews is bringing his Guitarmania 2027 to Z7, bringing together an impressive international lineup of blues, blues rock, classic rock, and heavy rock artists. The lineup includes Eric Gales, Eric Steckel, Russell Marsden of Band Of Skulls, Pablo van de Poel of DeWolff, Óskar Logi of The Vintage Caravan, Swiss guitarist Philipp “Bluedög” Gerber, and Rory Evans. Together with host Krissy Matthews, they’ll deliver an extraordinary evening of music dedicated to the six strings.
The idea behind GUITARMANIA is as simple as it is captivating: Krissy Matthews brings together some of his favorite guitarists and lets different styles, Generations, and personalities come together on one stage. The British-Norwegian guitarist played with John Mayall when he was just twelve years old; later, his paths crossed with B.B. King and Jeff Healey, among others. Today, Matthews tours internationally with his own projects as well as a permanent member of the Hamburg Blues Band. In 2026, his GUITARMANIA went on tour on a grand scale for the first time—with such success that the spectacle is returning even bigger in 2027. The lineup is impressive: Eric Gales is one of the most renowned blues-rock guitarists of his generation and blends blues, rock, funk, and psychedelic influences. Eric Steckel is known for an explosive mix of blues and powerful hard rock, a sound that also defines his latest album, “Sandstorm.” Russell Marsden brings the blues, garage, and alternative rock of Band Of Skulls to the stage, while Pablo van de Poel of DeWolff represents Southern rock, blues, soul, and psychedelic sounds. Óskar Logi Ágústsson of The Vintage Caravan rounds out the international lineup with a blend of heavy blues, classic, and progressive rock. Switzerland is also represented: Philipp “Bluedög” Gerber from Solothurn previously performed at the successful GUITARMANIA 2026. Also returning is British guitarist Rory Evans, whom Matthews counts among the most technically skilled guitarists he knows. Slawek Semeniuk on bass and Gerry Reynders on drums provide the musical foundation. When eight such diverse guitarists come together, variety is guaranteed: blues meets hard rock, psychedelic sounds meet garage rock, and delicate playing meets brutal riffs. GUITARMANIA is no ordinary concert, but a summit for everyone who loves guitar music.
