Bastian Baker is continuing his "Solo Acoustic Tour" in 2026, sticking to his musical roots. The singer-songwriter will be playing two club shows in the canton of Zurich: on 4 May at the Casinotheater Winterthur and on 17 May at Kaufleuten Zurich. Included: his new song "Time to Shine", the anthem for the 2026 Ice Hockey World Cup.
The musician from Lausanne will be on tour in spring 2026 with an all-acoustic program. The "Solo Acoustic Tour" will take him through several cities in Switzerland. Two dates are scheduled in the canton of Zurich: Winterthur (May 4, Casinotheater) and Zurich (May 17, Kaufleuten).
The choice of small, intimate venues underlines the reduced format. There are no official details of the set-up yet, but the tour title suggests solo performances with guitar and voice. Without a band, without a big production.
You can also hear Baker's new song "Time to Shine", which will officially be used for the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. The tournament will take place in Zurich and Fribourg from May 15 to 28, 2026.
The song was written, composed and interpreted by Baker himself. For the former field hockey player, the project is a matter close to his heart: "As a big ice hockey fan, a project like this means a lot to me," says the 34-year-old. According to the IIHF, the anthem is intended to combine dreams and passion and capture the moment "when there is no turning back."
Musically, Baker combines catchy pop with acoustic folk elements. His albums - such as "Facing Canyons" (2015) and "Stories of the XXI" (2022) - mix radio-friendly melodies with a personal touch.
On stage, classics such as "I'd Sing For You", "Tattoo On My Brain" or "79 Clinton Street" could find just as much space as newer songs such as "Can't Be Loved" or "Call Me In LA". In an acoustic setting, many of these titles unfold a new dynamic. They seem more direct, purer and closer to the lyrics.
The "Solo Acoustic Tour" marks a deliberate break: no stadium stages, no effects, no band set-up. Instead, Baker focuses on closeness, reduction and intimacy. A format that fits well with his career as a singer-songwriter.
Whether as an introduction to new music or a look back at his 15-year career, the club concerts offer the opportunity to experience Baker in his most direct form.
