On Saturday, November 4, 2027, Purple Disco Machine will perform at Halle 622 in Zurich. Dresden-based DJ and producer Tino Piontek is bringing his “Cosmotropia Live Tour 2027” to Switzerland, featuring a band, singers, and dancers. The tour centers on his fourth album, which will be released on April 30, 2027.
Purple Disco Machine was last in Zurich on October 10, 2024, performing at X-TRA as part of the Paradise Tour. Now he’s moving to the larger Halle 622 in Oerlikon. The move is in line with the trends of the past two years. Over Pentecost 2026, he filled the Dresden Zwinger on four evenings, drawing 36,000 attendees. He spent the summer of 2026 hosting the Pure Pacha series at Pacha Ibiza, every Thursday from July through October. The Cosmotropia Tour kicks off on October 8, 2027, in Cologne and continues through Leipzig, Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, and Stuttgart. A home show in Dresden isn’t on the schedule this time. Zurich follows on November 4.
“Cosmotropia” will be released on April 30, 2027, on Columbia. It is his fourth studio album, following “Soulmatic” (2017), “Exotica” (2021), and “Paradise” (2024). For this album, Piontek drew on the record collection from his parents’ home: Pink Floyd, The Alan Parsons Project, Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis, and Kraftwerk. He also incorporated disco from France, Italy, and Germany. The first single, “Test My Luck,” featuring British singer MEEK, has been out since October 2, 2026. On stage, he brings the album to life with a band, vocalists, and a dance ensemble. He has been touring with a band since the 2024 “Paradise” tour. Anyone who saw him back then at X-TRA knows the concept: The DJ stands at the turntables, surrounded by a show featuring vocals, choreography, and 1980s-style projections.
Tino Piontek, born in 1980, grew up in Dresden. His stage name pays homage to Prince and Gloria Estefan’s Miami Sound Machine. He has been producing music as Purple Disco Machine since 2009. His breakthrough came in 2020 with “Hypnotized,” recorded with Sophie and the Giants. This was followed by “Fireworks,” “Dopamine,” and “In the Dark.” In 2023, he won the Grammy for Best Remix for his version of Lizzo’s “About Damn Time.” He has also provided remixes for Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, and the Rolling Stones. He has performed at Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Lollapalooza. By 2024, his songs had been streamed over 1.8 billion times. Beatport ranks him second among the most successful artists of all time.
