Luca Hänni Hosts the Winter Varieté Nock in Zofingen

25/06/2026 written by Claudio

Switzerland’s oldest circus is back. And it’s bringing Luca Hänni along. Starting December 10, the 31-year-old from Bern will host the Winter Varieté Nock in Zofingen.

Luca Hänni is no stranger to big stages. But the ring at Circus Nock is something else entirely. There, the audience sits all around. There, you feel every reaction immediately. Hänni will take the stage as the «Greatest Showmaster» and guide the audience through the variety show. We asked him what appeals to him about this project.

«Above all, I was drawn to the opportunity to be part of something that has a long tradition and, at the same time, has the courage to reinvent itself. The Nock stands for emotion, wonder, and shared experiences. That’s exactly what I love about music, too. I’m thrilled by the idea of taking people out of their everyday lives for a few hours and giving them unforgettable moments.»

Showman, entertainer, storyteller

On stage, he wants to be everything. Not just sing, not just host.

«For me, it’s not just about singing songs or hosting the evening. I want to take people on a journey, tell stories, and create a connection. Every part of the program should feel like a part of a shared journey. I love being spontaneous, interacting with the audience, and throwing in surprises. The audience should laugh, be amazed, and maybe even experience a few emotional moments.»

«That fills me with great respect. The Nock has been a part of people’s lives for generations, and many people associate special memories with it. Becoming part of this history while also helping to shape something new is a great honor for me. I want to help ensure that this tradition lives on and inspires a new generation as well.»

It’s clear where he’ll bring his own personal touch.

«I want to bring my personality to it: music, emotions, and a connection with the audience. It should be modern, yet still retain that special magic that defines a variety show. It’s important to me that guests don’t just watch a show, but take home an experience—something they’ll talk about for a long time to come.»

And what makes the circus ring different from a concert stage?

«The circus ring is something very special. There, you feel the audience’s reactions immediately. You see their eyes light up, hear their laughter, and notice right away when a moment touches the audience. This closeness makes everything more personal and intense. That’s exactly what fascinates me. It creates an atmosphere that you rarely experience on a large concert stage. And I believe that’s exactly why every evening at the Nock will be unique.»

By the way, he helped design the Nock poster. He painted the star.
